Traditional Wooden Cross Country Ski Family Adventure

Activity description:

Gather the family and go on an unforgettable skiing adventure in Åre. Try our old-fashioned wooden skis, treated with fragrant tar and whose bindings are simple and allow you to use your own shoes/boots (make sure they are sturdy and warm). We set out on easy but beautiful ski trails, without any steep hills, and at a moderate pace, so that there is always time to stop and snap a photo. We make a stop at our wilderness camp for some mandatory hot chocolate, oranges, and cinnamon buns. All reminiscent of an outing with our grandparents back in the day.

We recommend that younger children, who are not able to ski themselves, are pulled by an adult in a comfortable Segebaden pulk provided by us.

The highlight of our Christmas Vacation. A must if you love dogs. This adventure was the highlight of our trip to Åre, Sweden. Me and my wife went. We received a brief instruction on how to drive the sled and we then followed the lead pack. It was exciting, adventuresome and fun. And the food we cooked was excellent. The dogs were fun and full of energy. The guides were good humored and very professional. A must for anyone who has had dogs and loves dogs. You must participate with the dogs in driving the sled, which makes this a physical experience, where sometimes you must help the dogs a steep slope or get untangled. Awesome fun.

A real adventure in magic winterland It was freezing cold, but truly beautiful and exciting! Thank you, Kaj, for the good driving and dog handling, and thank you, Frieda, for teaching us how to cook this tasty-crispy pork-bread-dish on the open fire! Amazing how the dogs and guides find their way through the wilderness with its lakes and forests in the dark. An exceptional adventure!

Amazing dogs Amazing dog sledding with my family. The kids fell in love with the dogs - especially Ella - and my husband loved driving the sled. Alex and Kaj were both lovely and very knowledgable. It was a truly magical experience for all of us , one that will never be forgotten.

Great time Thank you Alexander and the team for the great activities you arranged for us. The dog sledding in the dark was probably the best although it was really cold, so be prepared when you decide to do this. We came across this amazing sky when we were feeding the rendeer. So if you need a activityguide in Åre, call Alexander

Perfect family activity Thank you Alexander and Kaj (dog handler) for a glorious evening with dogs, sleds and a delicious evening meal! We have taken dogsleds in the daytime before, but having this experience at nighttime was magical. We were in a dreamscape! The dogs were friendly and obedient, and Kaj was very helpful and informative and answered all of our questions about the dogs, their breed and their life. Alexander made a roaring fire the old fashioned way and we cooked ham pancakes with lingonberry jam for supper. The small group, the expert local knowledge, and the kind and friendly support made this an activity that we can wholeheartedly recommend and would definitely do again.
